I make this in leu of cranberry sauce during the holidays. It’s definitely preferred over the can shaped gel!
Makes 4 cups
Ingredients
1 1/2 c. fresh cranberries
1 1/2 lbs. honey crisp apples, peeled, cored and diced
1 1/4 c. granulated sugar
Method
In dutch oven, add 1 1/3 c. water and all ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 8-10 minutes or until apples are fork tender and cranberries are softened, stirring occasionally. Using back of spoon, mash against sides of dutch oven to desired texture. Serve hot or cold.
