Perfect for hot chocolate, over ice cream, chocolate milk, drizzling over pancakes, waffles, anything! Better than anything out of a bottle!
Makes: 2 1/2 cups syrup
Ingredients:
1 cup purified water
1 3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1/8 tsp. kosher salt
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
Method:
In a medium sized bowl, whisk sugar, cocoa powder and salt.
In a small saucepan, add water and bring to near simmer. Add sugar mix and bring to a simmer, whisking constantly until fully dissolved and starting to thicken, about 5 minutes.
Remove from heat. Add vanilla extract and whisk to incorporate.
Let cool to room temperature before putting in air tight container and storing in refrigerator. It will thicken after cooling in fridge. Can be used right away warm!
