I have friends and family that don’t enjoy the strong flavor of coffee, but the sweet side of hot drinks. This packs a full shot of espresso, but tastes like a classic hot chocolate! See chocolate syrup recipe to add more chocolaty goodness from nicki’s cookbook!
Makes: 2 standard coffee cups mochaccinos
Ingredients:
2 cups fat free milk (yes, MUST be fat free)
1/4 c. sweet chocolate syrup (see recipe in desserts)
1 single serve cafe bustelo instant espresso coffee powder
4 cup glass jar with tight sealing lid (for foam)
Method:
Place 2 cups milk inside glass jar and tightly lid. Shake vigorously for 60 seconds. Remove lid. Place jar in microwave and heat for 60 seconds. Foam will grow so be careful! Remove from microwave. Pour milk into small saucepan, leaving behind foam. Set aside.
Heat milk in saucepan over medium heat, adding chocolate syrup. Once steaming hot, add espresso powder and wisk until dissolved. Remove from heat and fill two coffee cups with steaming mochaccino.
Using metal spoon, spoon foam onto tops of coffees. Sprinkle with cocoa powder, nutmeg or drizzle with chocolate syrup. Serve immediately.
