This is my first time ever having roasted brussel sprouts. The baby had an odd craving and off I went to learn how to make them! To my surprise, even my picky teenage daughter loved them and there were no left overs!
Makes 4 servings
Ingredients
1 lb. brussel sprouts, cleaned and halved
1 medium shallot, sliced thin
3 cloves garlic, crushed and minced
2 slices raw, thick cut bacon, diced (or panchetta)
olive oil cooking spray
cracked black pepper
Method
Preheat oven to 350. On cookie sheet, line with foil and then spray with oil. Place brussel sprouts, cut half down on the foil. Spray top of brussel sprouts with oil. Sprinkle shallot slices and garlic pieces over as many sprouts as possible, do the same with the bacon pieces. Crack pepper over all sprouts.
Bake uncovered, about 20 minutes or to desired doneness. For soft brussels, about 15 minutes to a golden green. For crunchy brussels, about 20 minutes or more until slightly browned or mildly burned.
